I was born in the beautiful district of Namaqualand in 1950. When I was five, my parents moved to Namibia. In 1974, I became a born-again Christian, and my life changed completely—I felt a deep urge to paint.
I never had any formal training, but once I started painting, I simply couldn’t stop! Painting is my inspiration, the reason I wake up every morning. I love, love, love to paint!
When someone looks at one of my paintings and feels something stir within them—that is my joy.
When someone steps into the gallery and says they just want to escape their troubles by looking at my paintings—that is my joy.
When another artist wants to take photos of my paintings for inspiration—that is my joy.
When somebody buys a painting, knowing it will bless their home—that gives me joy.
To paint what I love… that is my joy.
